Many of my friends and I have been discussing PASSION. So many folks talk about passion, "go find your passion", or "I want to live with passion". Those are great affirmations, but affirmations with no supportive action is merely talk. First of all, how do you determine passion? What is it? That is simple, your passion is what you would do regardless of pay. If you never received a dime from it, you would do it.
My passion is teaching metaphysics. It blends into each cell in my body, and thus into my life. I am fortunate that my career as a reader and teacher offer me a sense of support. It is my default, however. I know some people who are writers, and they write even if they never receive a contract, never sell a word....still they write. So, what is your default? Are you a super organizer? Perhaps you are the queen of couponing. Is exercise or yoga something that drives you? Discovering and claiming your passion is the first key to living it. Each passion, no matter how odd or unique you consider it, can have an official job to support it. Psychics can seek out life coaching, psychology or sociology, social work, addiction counselor etc. Healers of course can also do the same above professions (as they are a form of healer), but also nursing, home care, right down to pharmacy techs. As long as your passion feels as if it is working to help someone heal themselves, it is done. What if your passion is puzzles? Yes, that too can be turned into a career. Such as proof reader, discovering patterns in accounting work, etc. As you can see, discover your passion first, THEN find a job that fits it, not the other way around. Couponer? Try working with budgets! I hope this helps you clarify how to proceed to Live With Passion!
The primary drive within all human beings is intent. It decides guilt in court, it determines success in business and it provides a mission statement for human behavior. Many people make New Year’s proclamations called resolutions. Many resolutions fail due to the lack of intent, as they are missing this hidden drive to push them into a successful conclusion. They are too vague (or worse yet), too specific to allow the Universe to work with them. So let’s review some ways you may state your intention to the Universe.
Instead of “I want to be healthier in the New Year,” let’s give that idea some substance. Give it an intention. What do you intend to do to meet this goal? We all know the difference between a pharmacy and a farmacy is good food choices. The recent movement to organic goods vs. GMO induced products is our psyche supporting the fact that food can be medicine, or poison. So the actual change would be “I intend to use food as my medicine”. Changing this foundation will then slowly change the subtle choices your make throughout the New Year, allowing your goal to be met as the intention behind it will support these changes.
Instead of “I want to have a relationship in the new year,” we again change this ritual of seeking the same old thing yet another year. The intention is to discover what is blocking your from a healthy stable relationship.
Anyone can have a relationship, it is when you discover the blockages that are stopping you from having a good relationship, and this will open the flood gates. So we may say, “I intend to reveal my relationship fears and blockages”. This will be a healing and sealing time, removing old scar tissue and allowing a healing to take place. Only in this newly cleaned and healing space can something new take root. Otherwise when seeds are sown in the same old barren fields, nothing of value will be produced.
So now that you have a better understanding of the Intention part of your ceremony, let’s move on to the reference items to help us set the intention. You will want to collect; a bird’s nest (easily found at a craft store), eggs that will fit into the nest (plastic, wood, etc.), a gold Sharpie, a red ink pen, and 3 slips of small paper.
Focusing on 3 different areas you want to work on in the New Year, write your one intention sentence per piece of paper using the red pen. Meaning, there will be 3 areas you are working on, and thus 3 different intention statements. Fold your paper into a small square and put it to the side for now.
Hold the nest in your hand and focus on what a nest means to you; the promise of new life, potential, and of course security. This is YOUR nest, your sacred space to place your intentions for the New Year. Take one egg, and with your gold Sharpie, write the one word that represents your intention for that egg. Place the matching intention statement on the folded paper and place the paper beneath the egg in the nest. Do this for each egg, and each piece of paper with your intention statement into the nest.
Once you have completed your nest, find a place in your home will it will not be disturbed. If you can place it in the right hand corner of your home (yes, the right hand corner when standing at your front door), this is the abundance corner of your home, this will add that manifestation energy to your nest. This is not necessary however, but just an extra boost.
Now you have Set The Intention for your new year, have created clear statements, and will begin to manifest the Universal requests. It is important to remember, the Universe will supply your requests whichever way it sees fit (thus the reason for clarification with the intention statements). This you have no control over, surrender and allow the Universe to move you into whatever energy is best for you.
I like to do this on Jan. 1st, of each year.

If you have been involved in metaphysics at all, you may have heard this term. It is generally related to people. One clear indicator we have all experienced is “the phone call”. You know the one, you’re in a great mood and the phone rings. You see by caller ID this is going to be strenuous. By the end of the phone call, the friend you want to support and assist has left you tired, drained and empty (maybe even a little unwell). This is called Vamping. Just as the novel type of vampire sucks blood from their victim, an energy vampire sucks energy from others. So, this concept is easily understood especially since we all know one of more of these types of friends. I believe it would be safe to say, we’ve all BEEN this friend from time to time as well. It is the give and take of relationships. Sometimes you give (and give deeply), and sometimes you take (and take deeply). It all balances out in the end. If it doesn’t, then you are in an imbalanced relationship and therefore resentment will grow.
What if your worst energy vampire is not a person, but rather a job or hobby? What If you continue to put energy into a job, and receive little to no return? Yes, we can be discussing money, but we all know money is merely one part of a job. There are caveats within a job that hold “give and receive” tendencies including interaction with your co-workers, respect from the higher ups, and appreciation from your customers or clients to merely mention a few. If these jobs constantly take and give nothing more than a paycheck (if you feel unbalanced within the position, no money will NEVER feel like enough), then resentment builds. You feel drained, exhausted and as if you will live up to the expectations others have of you and or your position. It is a self-loathing place to be.
This self-loathing then turns inward deeper and can support the idea of you are not enough and will never be enough. You have allowed yourself to be set up into an emotional slavery that sees no end.
So, what to do? Change the way you invest your energy. I personally looked around my life and saw my energy split into 5 very different directions. I had to decide what my passion was (what would I do if I was not paid a dime), I moved all passions to a KEEP pile. Then the ones left (2) I have had to decide what to do with them. Did they leave me fulfilled ? No. Did they provide me income Yes. Do they uplift others? 1 yes, 1 maybe. Am I completely aligned with the mission of the situation/job? 1 maybe, 1 no. I released my position with both as I realized they are NOT beneficial to my growth, my passion, nor my mission. Sounds easy, huh? It can cost friends, income and status. In the end, however, there is only you and God, and you and you alone are in charge of Keeping The Peace within.
Review your own energy vampires, decide where they fit into your world, and remove the unnecessary. Make no mistake, this is not easy. Walking away from an enslavement (or addiction) never is. Once you release what is draining you, you allow space for the Universe to provide something wonderful to replace it!
I cried because I had no shoes, then I met a man who had no feet. - Mahatma Gandhi
When we approach our lives with total gratitude we can see how blessed we really are! Now, I realize you've heard this a thousand times or more in your life. It may be old hat for you, such old news that you don't even "hear" it anymore. Well, clean out your ears because I am about to reveal to you the secret to true manifestation.
Whatever circumstances you discover yourself in, right now, in this very NOW moment, be thankful, be grateful. This is the "magic pill" everyone is seeking. It's been right here all along, gratitude. Times have been lean in my home. I've stood in front of the grocery aisle deciding between aluminium foil, or plastic wrap. I only had enough money for one (and that was stretching it), but I was THANKFUL I could afford even one! Immediately something happened in my life that brought in extra money, now I have BOTH aluminium foil AND plastic wrap. Can you believe my good fortune, my blessings, my wealth?
If you cannot show the Universe you are thankful for what you currently have, then why should you be blessed with MORE?
Try this mantra; I am truly blessed, and am so thankful for what I have. I wish nothing but blessings for all that I encounter, that they be even more blessed than I am.
